Summer meadow

Jul 27, 2022

I’ve recently been making some work in response to my new home in the Lake District National Park. The park is a Unesco world heritage site and we think it is pretty awesome! My garden borders a beautiful meadow, and I let some of the flowers spill over into my garden to create more habitats for wildlife.

The flowers pressed into porcelain

I used some of these flowers to create textures by pressing them into the surface of soft clay.

These surfaces were then used to create my installation artwork.

Each butterfly is different and unique, capturing the ephemeral flowers in permanent porcelain form. There’s a group with floral surfaces currently available in the shop section on my website or get in touch if you’d like me to create the perfect group for your space.
