Welcome to Elizabeth Prince Ceramics

Feb 10, 2022

Hello! I’m Elizabeth, and I love clay. Any clay is great fun, but I’m super picky about the type of clay I use for my ceramic homeware and art. Welcome to my brand new blog, a space for us to share what we create, inspiration and exclusive offers.

My ceramic art is handmade from slightly translucent, pure white, English porcelain that is incredibly tough, as well as being fine, delicate and fragile at the same time. The materials we use are more expensive than many, but they give exquisite, jewel-like qualities or textures that you just won’t find with any-old-clay.

Each of my ceramic designs is carefully hand-crafted in my British studio with the utmost care, then fired until it glows red-hot in a stoneware firing kiln. Sometimes colour is added with glazes or paints, while contrast, texture and structure are created with the addition of unexpected materials and metals such as silver, brass and copper.

A little about me and my inspiration…
My background is in interior design and fine art, so good design and interesting artwork has always been important to me. What inspires me? There are many answers to that question, from natural objects to classical design to contemporary art.
